EPA takes next step in evaluation of trichloroethylene and “perc” perchloroethylene solvents
They made the top 10 list. The first in the list of chemicals to be evaluated for potential risks to human health and the environment under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) reform.
This evaluation will determine whether the chemicals present an unreasonable risk to humans and the environment.
Just a reminder, Slide Products eliminated all chlorinated solvents years ago. There are still other companies holding onto their formulations which use two chemicals.
A few years ago this final evaluation of trichloroethane was published by the EPA.
The final assessment characterizes the chemical as carcinogenic to humans...
Slide wants to be sure you are made aware of these issues and ongoing evaluations continue that raise red flags.
Slide consciously made the effort to change formulations nearly a decade ago, finding effective alternatives to all chlorinated solvents. The goal is to continue to provide the market with products that are better for you, better for your employees, better for your business and the environment.
Please take a few minutes to read the news release and the list of chemicals that will be under review. Then carefully review the SDS for the aerosols and other chemicals used at your business.
If you have any questions about migrating to better alternative formulations feel free to contact Slide Products for assistance.
